We aren't born with cancer, but for some families, genetics plays a strong role in cancer risk. If you have a family history of cancer, especially at young ages, talk to your physician about a referral for genetic counseling.
Take charge of your cancer risk with help from ProHealth Care's Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment Program. Our expert genetic counselors will take a close look at your family history, your risk factors, and, when appropriate, the results of genetic testing to do a personalized assessment of your risk, just for you.
You may be relieved to learn your cancer risk is lower than expected. When cancer risk is elevated, you and your doctor can work together to make a plan for early detection and risk reduction to keep you and your family healthy.
To schedule n appointment with a certified genetic counselor, ask your primary care doctor for a referral or call (262) 928-2224.
